Vista Gardens Art Circle

Connect, Create, Inspire 🎨✨

February 20 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Vista Gardens Art Circle is a monthly gathering for visual artists (ages 12 and up) to connect, create, and be inspired by the stunning beauty of Vista Gardens. With over 15 distinct garden areas spread across 4.25 acres, Vista Gardens provides endless opportunities to explore form, color, texture, and light—making it the perfect environment for artistic inspiration.

Artists of all skill levels are welcome, including those who have never created art before. Our volunteer Art Ambassador will be available to guide beginners through the basics of sketching and watercolor. If needed, we can also provide art materials to ensure everyone can participate fully in this creative experience.

Held on the third [or fourth] Thursday of each month from 12 to 4 p.m., these sessions are designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and community. Each gathering begins in the Foundation Library, where the group will discuss ideas for the day and may choose a shared theme or word to guide their work. Artists then move into the gardens to create, drawing inspiration from their surroundings, before reconvening at the end of the day for a thoughtful show-and-tell session to share progress and insights.

In addition to regular sessions, the group will host biannual shows of their work at Vista Gardens and collaborate with other Kitsap County organizations to exhibit selected pieces throughout the year. Artists may also sell their work during these events, with participants asked to donate at least two pieces for sale in support of Vista Gardens’ mission.

Participation is free to all Vista Gardens Members ($30/year individual or $40/year couples), but space is limited to ensure a meaningful experience for all. We’re looking for participants who are interested in attending regularly, creating a strong sense of community and collaboration within the group.

To ensure an enjoyable and productive experience for everyone, we ask that all participants adhere to the following guidelines:

Participation Guidelines

1. Respect the Garden: Artists agree to respect the garden and its ecosystems. This includes refraining from disposing of any art supplies or supply wastewater on the property.

2. Respect Each Other: Treat your fellow artists with kindness and respect. Encourage collaboration, share ideas, and support each other’s creative journeys.

3. Attendance and Communication: While we understand that life happens, we ask participants to commit to attending the sessions they register for so we know to expect your arrival. If you are unable to attend a gathering, please notify the group in advance to ensure smooth planning.

4. Art Donations: Each artist is required to donate at least two pieces of their artwork annually to be sold as part of a fundraiser for Vista Gardens. Your contributions will help sustain and support the gardens.

5. Show Participation: All participants are expected to take part in the biannual Art Circle exhibitions hosted by Vista Gardens. Additionally, collaboration with other Kitsap County organizations will allow for opportunities to showcase and sell your work throughout the year.

6. Marketing and Communications: By participating in the Art Circle, you agree to allow your name and artwork to be featured in Vista Gardens’ communications, including email newsletters, social media posts, and marketing materials like posters.

7. Young Artists: Artists under the age of 18 must have an accompanying adult or parent present during each session or provide a signed release form upon arrival. Parents or guardians must ensure that young artists are picked up promptly at the end of the session.

8. Good Stewardship: Be a conscientious participant and visitor. Respect the natural and peaceful environment of Vista Gardens, staying within designated areas and avoiding damage to plants.
