Philip Bloomquist
Serving as the Living Collections Curator at Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island, WA, Philip has over a decade of experience in plant propagation and nursery management. His journey into horticulture began in South Dakota, assisting his mother and grandmother in their retail nurseries. Since joining Bloedel Reserve in 2014, Philip has significantly enhanced the nursery’s operations and has been instrumental in various educational initiatives.
John Bullivant's Garden

As the Vice President of the Northwest Perennial Alliance, John is a passionate gardener with extensive experience in seed propagation. He has shared his expertise through numerous workshops, including sessions at the Kitsap Regional Library, where he demonstrated techniques for growing seeds into robust plants. John also leads the Open Gardens Team for the NPA, coordinating garden tours and educational events.
This workshop is ideal for both novice and experienced gardeners looking to enhance their propagation skills and deepen their understanding of plant cultivation from seeds.
This in-person workshop is $30 per person and will be held in the Vista Gardens greenhouse. With hands-on participation, space is limited to 8 participants per session, and two sessions will be offered. Vista Gardens Members receive 50% off all workshops.
