On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Vista Gardens is honored to participate in the Garden Conservancy’s Open Days program, a national initiative that opens the gates to some of America’s most inspiring private gardens. This special Kitsap County event invites garden enthusiasts to explore three distinctive gardens, each offering a unique perspective on horticultural artistry and ecological stewardship.
The tour begins in the Poulsbo area with visits to two remarkable private gardens: Trelowarth and Miller Bay. Trelowarth captivates with its thoughtfully designed landscapes, blending native plantings with curated garden rooms that reflect the Pacific Northwest’s natural beauty. Miller Bay offers a serene retreat, showcasing sustainable gardening practices amidst a backdrop of mature trees and waterfront views.
The journey culminates at Vista Gardens in Bremerton, a four-acre botanical sanctuary founded by John Albers and Santica Marcovina. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in a living demonstration of regenerative practices, featuring diverse plant collections and panoramic vistas of the Port Washington Narrows and the Olympic Mountains.
Garden Conservancy members must reserve their tickets through the Garden Conservancy’s website. Upon registration, participants will receive detailed information, including addresses and visiting instructions for each garden. This self-guided tour offers a rare opportunity to experience the creativity and dedication of local gardeners committed to cultivating beauty and sustainability.
