Sicilian Volcanic Wines: Tasting & Pairing at Vista Gardens

Saturday, July 25, 2026 | 5:00–7:00 PM
$40 per person | Limited seating

Join Vista Gardens for an intimate summer evening exploring the distinctive wines of Sicily’s volcanic landscapes.

Presented by Ethos, this special tasting and pairing workshop invites guests to learn how place, soil, climate, grape variety, and winemaking tradition come together in the glass. The evening will focus on Sicilian wines shaped by volcanic terrain, with special attention to the growing conditions around Mount Etna and the character those landscapes bring to the wines.

Guests will enjoy a guided tasting of three Sicilian wines, accompanied by small-bite pairings selected to complement each pour. Along the way, an expert wine purveyor from Ethos will introduce the featured wines, discuss the regions and vineyards where they are produced, and share insight into how volcanic soils influence grape growing and flavor.

Featured wines:

Terre Darrigo Etna Bianco 2023
A bright white wine from Etna, offering a crisp expression of citrus, minerality, and volcanic character.

Biondi Etna Pianta Bianco 2022
An expressive Sicilian white from a historic Etna estate, shaped by elevation, terraced vineyards, and mineral-rich soils.

Benanti Nerello Cappuccio Rosso 2022
A red wine made from one of Mount Etna’s indigenous grapes, offering red-fruit notes, spice, and a distinctive sense of place.

This two-hour event continues Vista Gardens’ mission of education and inspiration by exploring a subject closely connected to the garden: cultivation, climate, landscape, and the art of paying attention.
